What a magical place to have a conference.  ! The International Academy of Ceramics meets Biannually in a different country.  This time, Barcelona and the theme was architecture, of course.  Many of the presentations revolved around this topic.  We meet at the stunning and relatively new museum the Design Hubb, the consolidation of the former museums of ceramics, textiles and design.  Exhibits there included a number specially planned for the assembly.  I have work in the IAC Juried Members Exhibition.  My piece related to the theme in my use of the middle eastern jali window pattern.  I am both very proud and humbled to have work in this s how and museum. It is always wonderful to see my fellow members’ work in person.

After the mornings filled with  presentations, we hopped on buses and saw the city in all its splendor, often with expert guides.  We had access to places not just any tourist could visit.  I will write more about the sites of Barcelona in upcoming posts.
