I returned to Ireland, this time to Limerick to visit and give a workshop at the Limerick School of Art and Design. It was a wonderful five days. I enjoyed the students at LSAD and the faculty were very welcoming. They were interested in what I had to share and asked great questions.
On Wednesday I was taken by my friends from Ceramics Ireland to the west coast, a place I had on my bucket list. It is an amazing landscape, changeable and unique. At times I felt like I was on the moon. We explored the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, and a Portal Tomb from the megalithic era. Dinner at one of the faculty’s home afterwards was a special treat. Overall, I was treated royally!
Today was my last day in Ireland. I went to the National Museum of Ireland, Decorative Arts & History in the Collins Barracks of Dublin. I found interesting collections in a well-repurposed building and a worthwhile visit overall.
I will miss Ireland and my friends here. The people are warm, fun loving and giving, making Ireland one of my favorite places in the world!
Tomorrow I head to Spain and I should have some treasures from that part of my trip to share in my next post.
